Joe Barker reports that our G&O crew had a blast decorating the G&O Garden Railway with flags and other patriotic decor on Saturday, July 4th! They decked the place out with flags large and small, bunting, and patriotic trains! Happy 4th of July from the San Leandro Historical Railway Society! We\’re open as usual today from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. It\’s very likely that patriotic trains like this will be running again today! We had a successful weekend at our Summer 2014 Open House! A lot of traffic came through the back yard looking at our G&O Garden Railway and we had a lot of fun with the great weather. Society member Joe Barker took some great shots of the visitors. Many children played with the Children\’s area and a handful of Society members enjoyed their Father\’s Day weekend by running...

Yesterday\’s open house was a great success. I want to thank everyone who participated in the event. We had about 50 BAGRS visitors and another 25 people who learned about the open house from newspaper or internet sources.
