First day of the June Show

Posted on June 2, 2012 by DominicF

Today was a success as the first day of the June show. We had a fair amount of interest in the items available in our yard sale. Due to popular demand we will also be running the yard sale on Sunday. We will have many trains running, come down and see us.

Posted on May 5, 2012 by DominicF

Today we had two booths at the Girl Scouts 100th anniversary celebration, which was held at the Alameda Country Fairgrounds. We had one booth for the depot, with a small O scale display running trains and a cable car project; in the second booth we had the Operation Lifesaver booth to promote railroad safety. The…

Work in the San Leandro area of the HO display and work on the bridges for the G&O.

Posted on January 8, 2012 by DominicF

Work has been continuing at a feverish pace in the area of the HO display representing San Leandro.  The building representing the Del Monte fruit packing plant have been installed with only detailing and lighting left to complete.  A backdrop has been installed to tie the entire scene together, and painting is continuing on the…

Posted on September 24, 2011 by DominicF

This Saturday saw more progress on the ground-cover between Oleum and the Oakland yard on the HO scale display.  Currently underway in this area is a small cemetery. A discussion between a couple of members started to figure out what type of signalling will be used on the HO scale display. Several members were running…

Posted on September 14, 2011 by DominicF

Tuesday was a pretty laid back day down at the depot.  Early in the day some work was done on the G&O display, but the HO display had several members running trains in the evening. Overall it went pretty well, although a couple members had issues with cars derailing.  My problems were caused mostly from…

Lazy Saturday

Posted on September 11, 2011 by DominicF

Saturday was a fairly lazy day down at the depot with only a couple of members present.  The HO scale display saw trees planted in the Oleum area, and the trial run of a members mixed freight train.  The G&O had a couple of members running their trains, with video of them to be uploaded…
