We are sad to announce that in August, we lost one of our long-time members Ed Van Pelt to cancer. The SLHRS is celebrating his passion for trains with a Train Tribute for him on November 8, 2015. G and O gauge trains will be run from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM in Ed’s honor, with a BBQ lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs starting around 1:00 PM. Donations to cover food costs are welcome.
We invite all of Ed’s many friends from his days with the SLHRS G&O, Bay Area Garden Railway Society, and Diablo Pacific Short Line to attend and celebrate in Ed’s honor. Please help us to spread the word by distributing the invitation flyer found here.
