We’re pleased to announce that this year’s Spring Open House & Train Show will be happening Saturday April 18th and Sunday April 19th, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM both days. Our G&O crew anticipates that the repairs they’re doing from the damage from the December 30th wind storm will be done in time for the G&O to be in full operation for everyone to see. As usual, our members will be holding a bake sale with terrific cookies, brownies, and other baked goodies and a small table with donated items for sale to benefit the Society. Baked goodies range from 50¢ to $1.00 depending on the specialty and donated items are priced as valued. As always, our members are happy to tell you about the items for sale and help you pick the delightful sweets that will really hit the spot.
For the first time, we’ll also have some SLHRS logo baseball-style caps and kids SLHRS logo conductor hats. Both hats feature a great embroidered logo patch and are high-quality. Adult caps will be $12.00 each and children’s hats will be $5.00 each.
We’ll also be bringing back our kids’s Engineer Photo souvenirs for $5.00 each. That $5.00 donation will fetch you a 4″x6″ color glossy souvenir photo of your child posing with our little train engine in a protective display envelope. As always, all funds from these fundraisers will be going towards the San Leandro Historical Railway Society, which is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit. We will have mobile credit card processing available so cash and card will be accepted. If you’d like a receipt as all donations are tax deductible, one can be made available to you.
