New Clinic! DCC: Basic Operations

Posted on September 28, 2015 by Webmaster

SLHRS Skills ClinicOur HO Division Superintendent, Tom Blinn, will be running our second clinic for the 2015-2016 season!  This clinic will be “DCC: Basic Operations”.  This clinic will happen on October 10th in the Depot Museum.  Tom will be covering basic operation, programming, and installation of Digital Command Control (DCC).  The DCC protocol is defined by the Digital Command Control Working group of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA).  The clinic will address most all issues concerning DCC with respect to :

  1. How it works
  2. How to run a DCC Engine
  3. How to install decoders
  4. How to program decoders

There will be great handouts that you can keep for reference and demonstrations on how to install decoders and program your engine.  This clinic will be a refresher course for many and a road map of steps to understand and use DCC for others.  We will also talk about “Best Practices” in handling decoders and lighting devices.

Come and learn with us and the handout will be a constant reference to all the details!  Hope to see you at our Depot Museum at 10:00 AM on October 10.  Bring a friend!
