San Leandro Southern Pacific Depot Damaged in Dec. 30th Wind Storm

Posted on January 2, 2015January 4, 2015 by Webmaster

The historic Southern Pacific Depot, located in Thrasher Park in San Leandro, was damaged during the recent wind storm in the San Francisco Bay Area on December 30th, 2014.

The Depot, which was built in 1898 and is #2 on the San Leandro register of Historic Buildings,  received roof damage when a large Eucalyptus tree was uprooted and blown over, falling on a portion of our roof and the adjacent G&O Garden Railroad.

The Depot is maintained by the San Leandro Historical Railway Society, houses a railroad museum, a large HO scale model railroad, and a G & O gauge garden railroad.

The Depot will remain open during repairs.  If you would like to make a donation to help us get this damage fixed, you can do so via PayPal here:
